During his appearance on Shark Tank, he turned down an investment offer that didn’t match what he knew ISlide was worth, so Justin and his team have since worked tirelessly to continue growing their business. ISlide found itself in a predicament not unlike many other organizations using SAP Business One: a patchwork assembly of disparate technology that did not allow ISlide to quickly adapt to changing customer needs and emerging business trends. Without an integrated solution, ISlide was unable to create a consistent framework for affiliates or generate useful information out of the vast amounts of customer data. By developing a strong relationship with Focused Impressions, ISlide was able to leverage the FocusPoint e-commerce platform to create a comprehensive and fully integrated B2B management system that provided new customer insight through effective customer analytics.
In addition to creating an innovative and easy B2B experience that addresses customer needs, ISlide increased its revenue and customer base as well as developed new revenue channels that weren’t available previously. Oh, the Places You’ll Go with Boyum Usability!
With the implementation of the Boyum Usability and Pack and Print packages at Dynamic Computer Corporation (DCC), the efficiencies and savings have been phenomenal. After implementing SAP Business One, the team at DCC suspected they were not set up to properly utilize dates and lead times. This caused manual processes and workarounds to be utilized by sales, purchasing, and production, and it led to a waste of human capital and introduced risk of not meeting customer deadlines. The advantage of using Boyum was in allowing DCC to trigger the calculation on multiple events and not be limited by the formatted search rules.
Boyum also has a feature that prevents certain changes to sales orders, a task difficult to accomplish without the Usability package.
The enhancement to purchase order status allows DCC to store and update notes to line items even if a purchase order is partially closed, and those notes can be made visible on the sales order. This creates efficiencies for all and allows all quick access to the information needed.
Probably the most helpful feature is that Usability allows DCC to customize screens/modules by moving user-defined fields, creating new tabs, removing unused fields, setting up custom tab defaults, etc.—this has allowed DCC to onboard new employees quickly and more efficiently while reducing the risk of human error.
The process improvements translate into both operational improvement and improve your ability to produce it on time and to get it right the first time, increasing customer satisfaction and cash in the door.

With its four associated companies, Design Resources Inc. (DRI) must take in orders from a huge variety of customers in a wide variety of formats. Processing orders for custom-decorated apparel from college bookstores across the U.S., major sports leagues, a direct-to-customer BigCommerce website, and a sales rep team distributed across the U.S., the IT team at DRI has listened to the business, which says, “We don’t want our team hand-keying orders.”
The IT team has designed systems to take in orders in EASI, SPS Commerce’s RSX, custom XML, PromoStandards, intercompany (within SAP), BigCommerce API, and direct to database. By parsing these formats into our database and then providing standardized views to make the information look the same to our users and to SAP Business One, the business can then either automatically import the orders or allow users to approve orders for import using a web portal.

Gabrielle Gutierrez, the SVP at First Eagle Investment Management (FEIM), came from a large firm that had the resources to devote people and money to creating and using a complex budgeting solution. She is impressed that at a small firm like FEIM can have an accessible, user-friendly solution that lets nonfinance people be part of the budgeting process and therefore have a greater impact in the performance of the company. Users simply log in to a web portal and enter their budgets. They don’t even need to use Excel. (Excel is only used by the designers of the system.)
Forecasting/modeling was a very manual process for the FEIM accounting team, with most of the effort being spent on extracting data from various systems. Nowadays, e-commerce has become a basic tool that helps business grow. It is not just about having the tool itself, but the challenge lies in how to maintain the combination of desired business process, customer satisfaction, and the right technology running behind it.
Bailey’s runs SAP Business One and multiple e-commerce platforms. As the business continues growing, we have hundreds of thousands of customers and products with thousands of attributes and product options. It was a big challenge to maintain the huge volume of daily B2B and B2C transactions and the wide variety of attributes on products level and on the business partner level while abiding by our firm standards and data security policy.
To aid with that, ITM Development provided fully integrated SAP Business One solutions and customized e-commerce development, including full synchronization between SAP Business One and all e-commerce platforms and marketplaces, fraud detection system, return merchandise authorization (RMA), and Authoriz.net, all within one single version of SAP Business One, which can also monitor correct data flow and accuracy of data integrity. A customized development of Magento was also needed, such as a complex product page with information coming from multiple resources (attributes, files, UDT), and a complex filtration mode and custom shipping method required unique capabilities.
Now we are proud to have fully automated business processes, and as result, we could be able to reduce the operational costs and avoid human mistakes to increase the productivity and the revenue accordingly.

International SAP Business One Intercompany Integration Challenges
At MES, we have implemented SAP in Hong Kong, U.S., Mexico, India, China, and now Poland. Most SAP Business One implementation partners have limited experience in implementations in multiple countries. As we implement across different countries, we have had to do:
SAP Business One is the system we use to track critical metrics of on-time delivery, supplier performance, financial statements, and quality data. Global IT Manager Chhaya Gala will present and discuss the pitfalls and challenges we experienced while implementing SAP Business One globally and what we learned from them. We will also present some of the countermeasures we put in place and customizations we did to make the implementation an ongoing success.

- Examinations of intercompany settings, which if not done correctly can wreak havoc on supply chains, operations, and financial statements. This has limited user history with implementations in multiple countries.
