With its four associated companies, Design Resources Inc. (DRI) must take in orders from a huge variety of customers in a wide variety of formats. Processing orders for custom-decorated apparel from college bookstores across the U.S., major sports leagues, a direct-to-customer BigCommerce website, and a sales rep team distributed across the U.S., the IT team at DRI has listened to the business, which says, “We don’t want our team hand-keying orders.”
The IT team has designed systems to take in orders in EASI, SPS Commerce’s RSX, custom XML, PromoStandards, intercompany (within SAP), BigCommerce API, and direct to database. By parsing these formats into our database and then providing standardized views to make the information look the same to our users and to SAP Business One, the business can then either automatically import the orders or allow users to approve orders for import using a web portal.
We will look at how DRI has utilized custom, in-house-developed tools and reseller tools such as Third Wave Systems’ BizWeaver and Orbis Software’s TaskCentre to drive its companies a little bit closer to 0% manual order entry every day.
Key Business Benefits:
- Eliminate data entry errors.
- Get orders into the system and to the warehouse for fulfillment fast.
- Allow our team members to perform more fulfilling work.
